Summer/fall Tour dates coming soon!
On Sunday, May 21st, I had the pleasure of visiting with WGN's Rick Kogan on his After Hours show to discuss Forgottonia and play a couple tracks. Lsten to the conversation here.
Route 66 Lyric Video
My Dad was a civil engineer and we moved every three or four years my whole life. Now, I’m a child of the 1950s; a post war baby boomer with all that implies and when I first heard the David Williams song Route 66, I immediately connected with it. I had lived that song countless times and knew first hand that feeling of leaving everything behind in search of a better life. I could literally see myself in that rear seat of that big old car whenever I sang this song…
When I created this video, I wanted to draw on that personal connection I felt, so I dug deep into the family archives and located our original home movies and photographs from that time. Virtually all of the film footage in this video came from those home movies taken in the late 50s. The Chicago scenes were taken by my Dad in 1954 when my Grandparents came to Chicago for the first time in celebration of my birth (I was born in nearby Hammond, IN). Additional still shots came from my personal collection of “road shots” I’ve taken over the years.
